How it all began

We met on our first day of University where we found ourselves placed in rooms across the hallway from one another. We quickly became close friends and it only took us 6 months of setting each other up on dates to admit that we had feelings for one another.

Not long after we began dating, we spent 8 weeks in lockdown together with Jakes family in Gore. What began as a trial by fire, was quickly realised to be an amazing opportunity to get to know each other and our families very well.

We spent 3 years in Dunedin studying together alongside many of our friends, before Jake moved to Invercargill in 2022, while Hannah stayed in Dunedin to finish her study until later on that year when she also moved down.

The last 2 years we have lived in Invercargill and have loved it (surprisingly). Weekends have been filled with camping, fishing, BBQ’s, biking and spending time with our friends. We honestly couldn’t have asked for much more and will miss it a lot when we head overseas after getting married.

Then after 5 years together, on a sunny June long weekend, Jake proposed in Alexandra. We are so excited to get married and continue experiencing life together. We also cannot wait to celebrate with all of you! Our people.
