How it all began

Looking back, it's funny to think how many little moments had to happen to bring us here. I may not have expected to fall in love with a farmer, but once I did, there was never much doubt about where this story was heading.

We’d known of each other for a long time through mutual friends, our parents, and family friends, but it wasn’t until a camp that we really became friends ourselves. Before long, one thing led to another, feelings got involved, and somehow here we are planning a wedding.

Our entire relationship has been long distance. It started with Izac’s first year at Lincoln while I was still in Year 13 and continued when he moved back to Southland and I moved to Dunedin to study. Plenty of time has been spent on the road, counting down until the next visit and making the most of every weekend together.

Camping and tramping have become a big part of our relationship and some of our favourite memories together have been made outdoors. One trip we'll never forget was the Stewart Island Great Walk, where on a little beach along the track, Izac asked me to marry him. Since then, we've been looking forward to this next chapter together and can't wait to celebrate it with the people who mean the most to us.

Looking back, we can see God's hand in our story from the very beginning. We're so grateful for the people, places, and moments that brought us here, and we can't wait to see what He has in store for the years ahead.
